The Gatorskin Balaclava hood brings instant comfort and warmth when pulled over the head. The fleece lined Balaclava is constructed with Gatorskins on the outside and then lined with warm fleece on the inside. This allows you to breath out through the fabric but does not allow cold air in. Wearing this great item will keep your entire head and neck area warm. As they taught us in the Army, “If you keep your neck warm, you will keep your whole torso warm”. We tell customers that if they buy one Balaclava or Neck Warmer, they will buy another and they will tell all their buddies to buy one. But, there is one rule with this item… Never lend it out, because you probably won’t get it back. Our Balaclavas come in two sizes, large and small. In addition to the fleece lined, we carry unlined balaclavas in case you don’t require the additional warmth of fleece. This is great if you have limited space in your helmet and still want some protection.

The Gatorskins® technology was developed by DuPont researchers from a new leading edge material. This micro fabric is knitted from ultra microfibers that are smaller that a human red blood cell, yet they hold a greater amount of warm air next to the body than traditional fabrics of equal or greater thickness. Gatorskins® will keep you warmer in the cold and dryer in wet weather and still breath better than any other water repellent material you’ve tried.
